Are you an athlete? Do you love marathons? Have you ever wanted to compete in a foreign country? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Rabat could easily be the right place for you. Just last week, Rabat hosted a runners’ marathon in which included participants from across the country and even a few foreigners. Imagine the thrill you could get from competing with and sharing in good sportsmanship with locals during your study abroad experience. This is one study-abroad memory you don’t want to pass up.
For those who are more into aquatic sports, I have just the thing for you: surfing. Yes, you read that right. You can surf here in Rabat, right next to the Oudayas. THE OUDAYAS! Just imagine battling the waves next to one of the grandest monuments of the capital. Whether you’ve surfed before or not shouldn’t be an issue – there are surfing lessons available for beginners and boards to rent for the more advanced. Prices are fairly descent, too.
There are also numerous bike clubs in Rabat. If you’re in the right place at the right time, you can see teams of people biking together in style. Biking like it’s the Tour de France, these guys take pride in their hobby. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find a group of friends with whom you can go riding!
All of these experiences are possible if you possess two qualities: the first is the adventurous sense that brings you here and the second is the curious sense that leads you to inquire and discover all that Rabat has to offer. The key is not to be afraid to try new things. Don’t allow opportunities to pass you and your stay in Rabat can easily turn into the best time of your life.
